這兩天的Advanced的文章是「施比受更有福」(A path to Success:Helping others helps us succeed, but how much of yourself should you give?)
這篇文章介紹了Give and Take這本關於成功的書，通常這種書總是銷售排行榜上的常勝軍，而這類書也總是吸引許多野心勃勃的創業家和年輕人。
在Take and Give裡面，主要是介紹3種人:Taker(接受者)，Giver(施予者)，以及Matcher(平衡者)
Otherish Giver (類利他型施予者)
Selfless Gvier (無我型施予者)
在Advanced Studio Classroom中的這篇文章其實並沒有探討很多，大家就是上述所講的幾個重點概要。
This article introduce a book, titled Give and Take,to us.It dicusses the key to Success, which is always an eye-catching topic for those ambitious entrepreneurs and youngsters, including me.
At first, you may regard it as a instruction that ask people to be more ambitious and focus on work. Then you are wrong.
There are three primary elements in this article:Taker,Matcher, and Giver.
Takers are those who always want to get something from others.
Givers are those who always devote themselves to others, group,or society.
As for Matcher, there are the people between Takers and Givers.
To my surprise,at first, the author of Give and Take,Grant, stated that givers are more likely to fail, which conducted by some researchers around the US,including Studies of engineers in California, medical students in Belgium and salespeople in North Carolina.
(seeing this,I wondered:If it goes in that way,why did he publish this book?but Don't worry,I find out more detail after finishing the whole article.)
Although Giver are least successful, they are also ranked highest in their fields according Grant.
One of the reason is that they are willing to contribute their time and efforts to other peoples, which will help them make some good friends. And we all know that relationship is one of the most important key to successful business. Therefore, they can get the accesses easily than others, escpecially Takers.
Aside from Relationship,Givers can also collaborate with and get along with their workers more than Takers do,which will improve the team work and make the problem easier to cope with.
If Givers are so good, why they will be part of the loser or be closer to failure. As to this point, the author gave us a distinguished answer, which defines Givers more clearly. He said there are two kind of Givers. One is "Otherish Givers",and the other is "Selfless Givers".The difference between them is that otherish givers will think it twice if the subjects they are going to help are "good people" derserving their help and alos take their interest in their consideration rather than give their help blindly as selfless givers do.
The article in Advanced Studio Classroom doesn't write too much about the book. What you see above are almost the content of it.Upon finishing this article,I decided to buy one.(Of course in english.I need to improve my english, but it is almost twice expensive than chinese version on Books.com)This book is quite intriguing.
I may publish an article about Take and Give after finishing it.
